Ederson: Had to work harder than he normally does with a lack of protection in front of him and could do nothing about either goal that he conceded. Deserved better. 6
Walker: Poor from the first minute and never really recovered. Gave the ball away ahead of the first goal and too lax in possession. 5
Dias: The highlight of his performance was probably telling the referee to "f*** off" in perfect English. Less convincing than usual otherwise as he was hurried in possession but a lovely ball for the first goal. 7
Laporte: Unfortunate to give away a penalty but still a needless action in the box that won't do his chances of staying in the team any favours. 6
Zinchenko: Very good again from the left-back, marauding forward with purpose and always giving his teammates a passing option. 7
Fernandinho: Looked rusty in the opening stages as Southampton sped past him and behind to attack the defence. Improved in the second half. 6
De Bruyne: Two goals, even if he almost missed the first one. He looked better than he did on Sunday, although is still afr from his best. 7
Gundogan: His knack for goals continues and he wisely stepped back to help Fernandinho out when he saw the Brazilian getting beaten too regularly in midfield. 7
Bernardo: Worked hard but struggled to be involved in City's best moments while inadvertently helping Southampton score their second with an untypically heavy touch. 6
Mahrez: The best player by a distance. Southampton simply couldn't deal with his quality and he basically ended the contest on his own. 9
Foden: Should have had a penalty and worked very well through the night, setting up both of De Bruyne's goals. He surely must keep his place after this performance. 8
