Man City player ratings: Phil Foden and Ruben Dias good vs Olympiacos

Ederson: A night that he may as well have spent at the Parthenon for all he was needed. 6

Cancelo: Playing on the right with Walker given a rest, Cancelo continued his fine season. He was solid defensively and forced the home goalkeeper into a number of saves. 7

Stones: On his second successive start in the competition, more encouraging signs. Stones showed confidence moving the ball forward and, as significantly, looked tidy with no blunders. 7

Dias: He may not be the oldest or most experienced but Dias still led the defence less than two months after arriving from Benfica. The sort of composed performance that highlights how he has become the most important centre-back. 7

Mendy: Making his first start since the beginning of October, he was often spotted high on the left crossing balls into the box and also showed restraint to stay back when required. 7

Rodri: A chipped pass to the wing and a lashed first-time effort at goal in the opening minutes signalled his positive intent, although he struggled to keep the pace up and the team display subsequently dipped. 7

Gundogan: A go-to for Guardiola in the Champions League, he sat in alongside Rodri and bossed the midfield from the off. No surprise to see him help create the opening goal. 6

Bernardo: Another performance that failed to make much of an impression. While his industry should not be underrated, he didn't offer much to write about. 6

Foden: City's best attacking threat, full of confidence after his star turn for England. A confident finish to open the scoring and linked up well with Mendy on the left. 8

Sterling: Back in the starting XI and captain again, he came alive with a backheel for the goal. and was much livelier afterwards. Booked after a spat. 7

Jesus: Worked hard and was involved with the goal but never really threatened directly in a performance that will cement any view of him held before the game. 6

Mahrez (for Sterling, 76): Immediately involved on the right side of attack. 6

Aguero (for Jesus, 78): Any time on the pitch was a positive. 6
