Man City player ratings: John Stones and Gabriel Jesus good vs Fulham

Ederson: Didn't have a save to make but his passes though the lines under pressure in the first half played an important role in how comfortable the game looked. 7

Cancelo: Not every risk paid off but he was dangerous in the final third and effective whenever he could shake off the Fulham man-marking, while stepping back to defend when needed. 7

Stones: He was commanding and stylish in the first half bringing the ball into midfield, and thumped home the opener as his prolific season continues. Arguably City's best defender in 2021. 9

Dias: He didn't have an awful lot to do given Fulham were so well controlled, but made sure his teammates knew exactly when they had done something right or wrong. 7

Laporte: Looked at home on the left of a three-man defence. Made some key interceptions in the box and kept Mitrovic quiet all night. 7

Mendy: He found space high up on the left wing on his first league appearance since December, but also was let off in the first half after failing to pick up his man in the box. 6

Rodri: Business as usual for the business student, slotting straight back into the team after a midweek rest and ensured City's middle was solid. 7

Bernardo: One of CIty's most intelligent players occupied space all over the pitch in the fluid formation and his ball retention was integral to City's control of the match. 7

Torres: Looked rusty, unsurprisingly after so little football of late, but improved as the game went on and won the penalty for the third goal to show signs of tuning up. 6

Jesus: Spent most of his time on the left wing. After a subdued first half he was a livewire in the second, winning the free-kick for the opening goal and earning mistakes with his pressing of Fulham's defenders. 8

Aguero: He was another with signs of rustiness, notably of which parts of the pitch to keep the ball and which to pass and go. A goal, a penalty, and a first 90 minutes since February 2020 are all positives. 7

Substitutes

Fernandinho (for Bernardo, 66): Very little to do with the game won but a handy runout . 6

Garcia (for Dias, 75): His first Premier League action since November. 6

Not used: Steffen, Zinchenko, Walker, Foden, Gundogan, De Bruyne
