Man City player ratings as Riyad Mahrez and Rico Lewis good vs Tottenham

Ederson: An awful error for the first goal, and a poor save for the second goal. An extra point for the assist 4

Lewis: Absolutely terrific, with key defensive interventions and attacking ambition - even after being clattered. 8

Stones: Largely good but should have done better for the second with a simple ball over the top. 7

Akanji: Kept busy for a lot of the night by Kane and did enough. 6

Ake: Has some limitations as a left-back but was one of City's better and most reliable performers. 7

Rodri: Lost his bearings and his head at the end of the first half but recovered well to restore order. 6

Gundogan: Conducted the orchestra - the good and bad of it - and enjoyed getting forward. 7

Alvarez: Started the comeback after working his way into the game. 6

Mahrez: Came to the party in a big way in the second half and scored two big goals. 9

Grealish: Kept plugging away on the left and earned plaudits for his tracking back. 7

Haaland: Looked to be short of confidence (as well as service) in the first half but got his goal. 6

Substitutes
