Man City player ratings as Grealish good but Rodri poor vs Tottenham

Ederson: Couldn't do anything about the goal and saved well a few times to keep the score down. 6

Walker: Was asked to play three different roles and did each well. Should know by now not to shoot though. 6

Akanji: Did well in a typically physical battle with Kane and deserved better from those in front of him. 7

Ake: As good as his defensive partner, a solid showing against a very lively attack. 7

Lewis: Some desperate defending but lots of tidy play and sensible decisions. 6

Rodri: One of his worst performances in ages, compounded by the abysmal error for the Spurs goal. 4

Bernardo: A fully committed performance that justified his inclusion. His effectiveness waned in the second half. 6

Alvarez: Nearly scored from a clever free-kick but still searching for a role and rhythm in the team. 5

Mahrez: Hit the underside of the bar with City's best chance before he went off. Quiet, but very little service. 6

Grealish: Excellent defensively and deserved more protection from the ref when he went forward. 7

Haaland: He tried with increasing desperation to get involved in play but nobody found him. 5

Substitutes

De Bruyne (for Mahrez 59): Injected some life into the attack. 6

Gundogan (for Bernardo, 85):

Not used: Ortega, Dias, Laporte, Gomez, Perrone, Phillips, Palmer
