Man City player ratings as Ferran Torres and Gabriel Jesus score in win over Olympiacos

Gabriel Jesus celebrated his return to fitness with a sensational strike in another Champions League victory for Manchester City.

Jesus came on as a substitute midway through the second half for his first appearance since City’s Premier League opener at Wolves back in September.

And he marked his comeback with a stunning goal that settled City nerves and confirmed a perfect three-game start to their Champions League campaign.

Ferran Torres had opened the scoring early in the first half but Olympiakos were threatening a comeback until Jesus made his dramatic intervention.

Joao Cancelo gave the scoreline an emphatic look with a late strike.

City now travel to Olympiakos for their next Champions League match and only need a draw to confirm qualification for the knockout stages.

Man City (4-3-3)

Ederson 7

Always alert to danger, came out of his area to head one ball clear. Impeccable distribution.

Kyle Walker 7

Continued his fine start to the new season. Defensively solid and an attacking threat down the right.

John Stones 6

First start since City's opening game of the season and was assured, with few anxious moments.

Nathan Ake 7

Defensively disciplined. Held his line well to ensure El-Arabi was offside as he surged goalwards.

Oleksandr Zinchenko 6

Comfortable first-half but looked panicky at times after the break, which nearly cost City.

Kevin De Bruyne 8 MOTM

Sublime touch to Torres to set up City's opener and was also the provider for Jesus to score.

Ilkay Gundogan 7

Anchored the midfield with usual diligence. Tidy in possession and rarely misplaced a pass.

Some slopping passing, with one loose ball in the second-half nearly gifting a goal to Valbuena.

Riyad Mahrez 6

Had an early shot on goal blocked. Another whose passing was awry at times. Subbed.

Ferran Torres 7

Opened the scoring with his third Champions League goal for City. A constant threat up front.

Had the beating of the experienced Rafinha down the left side with his pace and direct running.
