Man City open to selling two full backs this summer transfer window

Manchester City are willing to sell both Fabian Delph and Danilo this summer - providing they can sign a backup.

Pep Guardiola successfully converted Delph into a left-back two years ago when Benjamin Mendy was ruled out for most of the season with injury, but the former Villa captain has seen his opportunities dwindle over the past 12 months. His shock inclusion for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Tottenham - where his error contributed to the only goal of the game - was just his third start in 2019 and his last for the club.

With the five-year contract he signed with the club up next year, the Blues will not stand in his way if he wants more regular football.

The same holds for Danilo if the club gets the right offer and can line up a replacement. City's Brazilian right-back has been an important part of the squad since joining from Real Madrid two years ago but has failed to dislodge Kyle Walker from the right-back spot and started none of the final ten games of the season.

Guardiola would like to keep the 27-year-old in his squad, but if the player wants to leave and the right agreements can be reached then the Blues are prepared to let him go for more first-team action.

City have shelved previous plans to sign a left-back this summer, preferring to focus their attention on central defence with Vincent Kompany having left the club and uncertainty lingering over Nicolas Otamendi's future.
