Manchester City have become the latest team to show interest in Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni, according to reports.
Tchouameni has shone for Monaco and now France over the last year and is earning a lot of admirers throughout Europe, though especially in the Premier League where Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and now City have all been linked.
The defensive-midfielder has become a key part of the Monaco side, making 65 appearances in just under two years at the club, despite his tender age.
While a new striker to finally replace Sergio Aguero will likely be the biggest priority for the Blues in the summer, a new defensive-midfielder could be on Pep Guardiola's wishlist as well.
Legend Fernandinho is once again in the final few months of his contract and with his playing time diminishing further this season he may call it a day on his incredible stint at the Etihad in the summer, to fulfil his dream of returning to Brazil for the remainder of his career.
That would leave Rodri as City's only natural, senior option for the anchor role in midfield and a move for Tchouameni could be appealing as a result.
According to TuttoJuve, via TBR Football, both City and Liverpool are interested in the 21-year-old and have opened talks to enquire about how much he would cost.
They're not alone - with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Juventus all keen as well - and Monaco have informed the interested parties that their asking price is £42million.
However, it is added that Chelsea are currently leading the race for Tchouameni.
Meanwhile, Barcelona want Raheem Sterling to take a pay cut if he moves to Camp Nou.
While it's understood any transfer is very unlikely in January, Barcelona are interested in the City winger as they look to rebuild under new manager Xavi.
However, their financial problems are a massive stumbling block and SPORT reports that they would want Sterling to take a lower base pay, made up by more bonuses, in order to sign him.
