Man City 'one of three clubs with chance of signing Barcelona forward Philippe Coutinho' - and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are one of three clubs with a chance of signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.

Marca claim the former Liverpool man has decided he wants to leave Barcelona after just 18 months, and the newspaper name City as one of his potential destinations.

PSG and Chelsea are the other options named by Marca, but Liverpool are not thought to be in the running and neither are Manchester United - who were linked with the 27-year-old in January.

The report adds Coutinho does not want to take a pay cut, which may hinder any interest City may have.

However, City are well stocked in the forward areas, and are not believed to be in the market for any additions to that department.

And with Chelsea currently under a transfer embargo, there is further reason to doubt the report.

Meanwhile, The Times claim Juventus will target Kieran Trippier as a replacement for Joao Cancelo if the full-back leaves for City this summer.

A deal for Cancelo is yet to be agreed between City and Juve, but the Italian club are thought to be lining up Trippier in anticipation that the move will take place.

The report says Trippier would cost £30m, with City negotiating a fee for Cancelo that is thought to be in the region of €50-60m.
