Man City 'one of three' clubs who could sign ex-Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho and more rumours

Barcelona believe Manchester City are one of the only clubs who could sign Philippe Coutinho, reports in Spain say.

Coutinho is being linked with a move out of Barcelona just 18 months after joining from Liverpool, but Mundo Deportivo say the Brazilian commands a £107m price tag.

That means the Catalan giants are operating under the belief that only three clubs could afford Coutinho and his £12.5m-per-year wages, the report says.

Those three clubs are named as City, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Man City boss Guardiola not ruling out move for Alves

City have shown no interest in Coutinho, especially seeing as they are well-stocked in the attacking midfield department, and the report makes no mention of any movement from the Etihad.

It also seems unlikely that Coutinho will line up against City in the Premier League for United - especially after his agent said it would be impossible for him to play against any of Liverpool's rivals.

Meanwhile, Dani Alves has not made a decision over his future, Sport say.

Pep Guardiola left the door open to a reunion with his former Barcelona right-back on Friday when he said: "He is an incredible player and an extraordinary person - but we have two incredible full-backs so it is what it is."

And now Sport (via SportWitness) say Alves is on holiday after winning to Copa America with Brazil this summer, and hasn't made a decision over where he will play this season.

The report adds City and Juventus are the 'more feasible' destinations for the 36-year-old, and that City would only move for Alves if they end their interest in Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo.
