Man City morning headlines as Silva names best moment and Yaya offers advice for Madrid match

Here are your Man City morning headlines for Saturday, 25 July.

David Silva: “I will always be a Blue”

Ten years of excellence will come to an end on Sunday when David Silva prepares to play his final Premier League game for Manchester City against Norwich City.

And the Spanish playmaker has sent a moving message to City supporters ahead of the match.

“They have shown me so much respect – and respect is the most important thing for me,” he said .

They have shown me and my family respect wherever we go and then on the pitch, too.

“I am very grateful for all of this. I will be a Blue – Blue forever.”

Silva, who joined City from Valencia in the summer of 2010, has won four Premier League titles, five League Cup and two FA Cups with the club.

Maiden City goal gave Silva confidence

David Silva has also been talking about the high points – and low periods – of his time at Manchester City.

His career at the club was really sparked by his first Premier League goal, in a 3-2 win at Blackpool in October 2010.

It was not his first goal for City – that came a month earlier in a Europa League win at Red Bull Salzburg – but it made English football sit up and take notice.

“It was very good because this goal gave me a lot of confidence,” Silva said . “It made me feel more relaxed and proved I was adapting to the style of play here.

“When I arrived after the World Cup, I wasn’t in the best physical shape.

“Slowly but surely I got up to speed and the truth is that goal gave me a huge boost to play the way I wanted.”

Toure offers attacking advice

Manchester City legend Yaya Toure has offered some thoughts on how Pep Guardiola’s side should approach their Champions League encounter with Real Madrid.

City will face Real in the Champions League last-16 second leg on August 7, with the Blues 2-1 up from their first encounter.

Toure told Leyton Orient’s channel - he has been training with the League Two club to keep his fitness levels up - that he thinks City will have to score if they want to beat the Spaniards and progress.
