Former Juve man Maresca appointed EDS head coach
Enzo Maresca is the new head coach of Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad.
The move is part of an ongoing reshuffle at Academy level , with Maresca taking the role having most recently been assistant manager to Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham United.
Glenn van der Kraan is due to join in October as head of younger age groups, while Carlos Vicens is to be under-18s boss. Gareth Taylor, who previously had that role, is in turn taking over as head coach for Manchester City Women.
Maresca’s playing career saw him take in Juventus, Fiorentina and Sevilla, having also been at West Bromwich Albion at the start of his career. A meandering finish to his playing days took in Olympiacos, Malaga and Palermo, among others.

Messi personal terms agreed - report
Lionel Messi and City have already agreed personal terms for a transfer.
That’s according to journalist Vero Brunati, who says they have an “agreement in numbers” and the Barcelona player will soon make a public announcement when he’ll confirm his exit from the club.
There’s also a report from L’Equipe suggesting Paris Saint-Germain made contact with Messi’s father, asking about his interest in joining them, but the Ligue 1 champions were told the Argentine had already decided on City.
There are still discussions ongoing between Barca and Messi over whether he’ll even be able to depart this summer, but the signs continue to suggest that if he does leave the Camp Nou, it could well be for the Etihad.
