Here are the Manchester City morning headlines for Thursday, August 20.
Loan signing confirmed
With Claudio Bravo having left Manchester City, the club have moved to secure further back-up in goal for the 2020/21 season.
It’s Scott Carson, who was with the club last season too. The former Liverpool ‘keeper didn’t make an appearance for City, but was part of the match day squad on 17 occasions.
Carson will help the Citizens to fulfil the Premier League’s homegrown criteria, with his parent club Derby County happy to let him spend a second season at the Etihad Stadium. His contract with them expires next summer.
Premier League fixtures released
City's Premier League fixtures for the 2020/21 season have been released.
Pep Guardiola's men were set to take on Aston Villa on Saturday, September 12, however that will be rescheduled to a later date given their participation in the Champions League.
A trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers and a home game with Leicester City are the other two fixtures due to take place that month.
City are due to finish with a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion and a home game with Everton.
The full fixture list is here.
Bravo pens farewell to fans
Claudio Bravo’s time with City is at an end, after four years with the club.
The Chilean was brought in by Pep Guardiola ahead of his first season in charge, to replace Joe Hart as the manager wanted a goalkeeper who was comfortable on the ball.
But after a difficult 2016/17 campaign for Bravo, City signed Ederson to be their number one. However, Bravo did feature in the 2018 and 2019 Community Shield victories.
And he has thanked City fans for the support he received in a post on social media.
He wrote: "My four years with Manchester City have ended and I feel so proud and delighted to have worn the light blue shirt and being part of this great team.
"I am really happy to have contributed to the sporting achievements of the club which I am leaving with eight great titles. I would like to thank all the members of this club: players, coaching staff, medical staff, kitchen staff, ground staff, and of course the fans!”
