Man City morning headlines as Kevin De Bruyne leaves Belgium squad

De Bruyne returns to City

Kevin De Bruyne has returned from international duty early following his substitution against England at Wembley.

The midfielder was withdrawn during the second half of Belgium’s 2-1 defeat on Sunday as a precaution, according to national team boss Roberto Martínez.

Belgium’s official Twitter account revealed that De Bruyne had not travelled with the rest of the squad for their UEFA Nations League tie against Iceland.

The severity of De Bruyne’s injury is yet to be disclosed.

Aguero interest from Italian giants

City striker Sergio Aguero is a target for Serie A side Inter, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Argentine’s contract expires at the end of this season and the Italian outlet report that Inter want to keep him in Europe.

Antonio Conte knows full well the capabilities Aguero possesses following his time in charge of Chelsea, and the Inter boss has made quite the habit of signing Premier League players since moving to San Siro.

Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young, Victor Moses, Alexis Sanchez and Christian Eriksen are among those Conte has recruited for Inter over the past 18 months.

Roberts finds late domestic move

Patrick Roberts has been sent out on loan to Middlesbrough once again this season, following a promising spell with Boro towards the end of the previous campaign.

Roberts again found himself on the fringes of City’s squad and stated his delight at being able to return to familiar surroundings.

“It feels normal for me. I’m coming back to a place where I know I can just get my head down and enjoy my football."

The winger made just 10 starts in all competitions last season – the majority of which came for Boro – as an early-season spell at Norwich City failed to yield much game time.
