Man City monitoring Premier League left-back, Ferran Torres latest and more transfer rumours

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are monitoring Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri - according to reports.

Having coasted to a third Premier League title in four seasons, figures responsible for deals at the Etihad Stadium strengthened by breaking the nine-figure barrier to sign Jack Grealish for £100million. That came on the back of his swashbuckling displays for the Villans and England at Euro 2020.

City were priced out of a follow-up pursuit for Harry Kane and the three-time Golden Boot winner was, ultimately, forced to pledge his future to Tottenham.

Another position which had been mooted with regards to potential additions was left-back.

However, with Joao Cancelo in such flying form this season, the decision to opt against a swoop there has already been justified - although Guardiola and those in the boardroom might, also, have one eye on the future.

According to The Daily Mail, the Premier League champions are one of several elite clubs looking at Ait-Nouri.

The 20-year-old has impressed since his £10million switch from Angers during the summer transfer window.

Barcelona, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are also credited with an interest in the Wolves full-back, so there is plenty of would-be competition for City in that regard.

Elsewhere, cash-strapped Barcelona have made Ferran Torres their 'absolute priority' amid suggestions the parties involved have already come to an 'agreement in principle' over his services.

The 21-year-old impressed at the start of this campaign having been thrust into a 'false 9' role after City missed out on signing England captain Kane from Tottenham.

However, after scoring three goals in seven early-season games, Torres broke his metatarsal the 22-cap starlet will not return to action until the New Year.

Barcelona have endured well-documented financial problems, too, and Champions League qualification remains a tough proposition as they find themselves eighth in the La Liga standings.

As per Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans and Torres are 'convinced to connect paths' in January. For now, though, it's 'only a matter of time, but above all money'.
