Man City midfielder Matt Smith secures transfer deadline day move

On loan Manchester City midfielder Matthew Smith has secured another move for the second half of the season.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of the campaign at Queens Park Rangers but only made eight appearances for Mark Warburton's side. City have confirmed he will spend the rest of the season at Charlton.

It is the Wales international's third loan spell of his short career after he spent last season at Twente.

The defensive midfielder came to City in 2013 but has yet to make a first team appearance.

Smith joins Spanish left-back Angelino in sealing a deadline day loan move away from the Etihad.

Angelino will spend the remainder of the season at RB Leipzig and it is understood the Bundesliga club has the option to make the deal permanent for €30million in the summer.

The full-back only re-joined the Blues in the summer but has struggled for game time since his return.
