Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan makes Liverpool FC vs Barcelona prediction for Champions League clash

Liverpool can still reach the Champions League final, despite trailing 3-0 to Barcelona, according to Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Barcelona hold a 3-0 win from the first leg at the Nou Camp thanks to a Lionel Messi masterclass last week, and the Spanish champions made 11 changes in their weekend defeat to Celta Vigo.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will be without forward Mo Salah through injury, and Roberto Firmino is a doubt for the clash at Anfield.

But Gundogan , who played under Reds manager Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, says Liverpool can still win the tie on Tuesday night and progress to the final in Madrid.

“I’ve already thought about it and somehow I have the feeling that it’s not over yet,” he told DAZN  (via  TeamTalk )

How Man City could line up with summer transfer target Bruno Fernandes

“I can even imagine Liverpool winning the game 4-0 at home. I don’t know why, but I think that at Anfield, and Klopp as a motivational machine and with the types of players that are very unpleasant to play against, even a team like Barca can be completely shut down in one game.”

Barcelona threw away a three-goal advantage in the quarter-finals last season, losing the second leg to Roma 3-0 after a 4-1 home win in the first leg.

However Liverpool do not have an away goal, and will need to score four goals at Anfield to win.

Whatever the result, Liverpool will then prepare for their final Premier League clash against Wolves on Sunday, knowing they need City to slip up at Brighton to win the title.
