Man City manager Pep Guardiola sends message to supporters as club launch new website

Pep Guardiola had a unifying message for Manchester City supporters as the club launched a new website to help entertain fans at home.

Football has been suspended across Europe amid ongoing coronavirus concerns, with the UK one of a number countries where people have been ordered to stay home in a bid to try and limit the spread of the virus.

City manager Guardiola has already personally donated to help fight Covid-19, giving £920,000 (€1m) to the Barcelona-based Fundacio Angel Soler Daniel, who are working in conjunction with the Official College of Doctors of Barcelona dealing with the pandemic.

And in a video to Blues the Catalan coach vowed that everyone will come out of the situation stronger, but urged people to listen to the advice being given.

"We miss football. We miss the life that we had a few days ago but now is the time to listen, to follow our scientists, doctors and nurses," he said.

"You are my football family and we are going to do everything possible to make you feel better. We’ll come back from this stronger, better, kinder…and a little bit fatter. Stay inside, stay safe."

The video was part of the new Cityzens at Home site launched by the club to provide fans with news, advice and activities during the uncertainty.

They include coaching videos provided by City's football staff as well as daily skills challenges, mindfulness classes, downloadable colouring content for children and players’ favourite recipes for aspiring home cooks.
