Man City manager Pep Guardiola sends message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after his Man Utd appointment

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has congratulated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on his appointment as permanent Manchester United manager and hailed him for doing an 'incredible job.'

Solskjaer was announced as permanent manager of United on Thursday having replaced Jose Mourinho on a temporary basis in December after he was sacked.

The Norwegian has won 14 out of his first 19 games in charge and Guardiola recognised the job his counterpart at Old Trafford had done in a short period of time.

"United are always incredible opponent," Guardiola said when asked about Solskjaer's appointment ahead of City's trip to Fulham in the Premier League. "Congratulations to him, he has done incredible in terms of results and I wish him all the best."

City travel to Fulham in the early kick off on Saturday and have the opportunity to go back to the top of the table as Jurgen Klopp's leaders don't play until Sunday afternoon.

And the City boss confirmed he had been given a squad boost with a number of his injured players had returned to training and would be available for the clash.

"Everybody came back fit," Guardiola said. "Fernandinho, Kevin, Vincent, yeah, everyone is ok."
