Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Carlo Ancelotti is capable of doing an 'incredible job' at Everton.
Ancelotti has had an instant impact at Goodison Park, with his side winning his first two games in charge - against Burnley and Newcastle - over the festive period.
But the former Napoli boss faces his toughest test in charge of the Blues on New Year’s Day, when he takes his side to the Etihad to take on City.
And Guardiola has revealed how he is relishing the opportunity to spend time with the Italian.
Asked how well he knew Ancelotti, the City boss replied: "Quite well. We play against him a few times, not much. Always his teams beat our teams!
"I was with him, it was an honour to be with him a few times, dinner and talk, Uefa meetings and private dinners. He is an incredible gentleman.
"He has conducted some of the greatest and more experienced teams in Europe, the list is huge and when that happens it is because you are an incredible manager.
"I think it is incredible news for English football he is back and I think he can make an incredible job there."
Guardiola added: "Everton is Everton, one of the biggest and traditional and historical teams in England, with incredible quality in these players.
"They struggle a bit for the points this season but the quality is there and with a new manager with incredible experience. A manager like Carlo and with his incredible capacity.
"Carlo is one of the smartest guys he is always able, it doesn’t matter the team he takes, to make them work, good results in the last two games so difficult test for us."
