Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reiterated that he has no intention of returning to Barcelona as their new manager.
Former club president Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned earlier in the week ahead of an expected vote of no confidence at next month's elections.
The frontrunner to replace him is Victor Font, who vowed to bring Guardiola back to the Nou Camp in order to keep star forward Lionel Messi at the club.
Font said: "Most of the best professionals who know about this style are also fans and love the club - like Pep Guardiola, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol. They are all legends that love Barcelona but do not work for Barca today - we need to bring them back to ensure we will have a very competitive project."
Guardiola's contract expires at the end of the season and MEN Sport understands City chiefs are keen to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium.
The Catalan coach addressed the speculation over his future during his pre-match press conference and doubled down on his comments following City's win against Sheffield United.
"I've said many times, my period as Barcelona manager is over," he told BT Sport. "There are incredible people who can be in charge.
"Ronald Koeman is an outstanding manager. It's over. I will come back to my seat to see my club [Barcelona], to watch a game, but it's done."
Guardiola expressed his happiness as City boss amid uncertainty over his long-term future.
He added: "I'm here, I'm incredibly happy here. I have the desire to do well. This is the most important thing.
"With the elections in Barcelona, hopefully they choose the right person for the board to maintain the incredible club."
