Man City line up vs Olympiacos in the Champions League includes John Stones and Benjamin Mendy

Pep Guardiola has named a strong team to face Olympiacos tonight, as Manchester City hope to secure passage to the last-16 with two games to spare.

City know a win will seal a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League, but Olympiacos will offer a tough challenge in Greece.

Guardiola opted to leave Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne in Manchester to hand the pair a much-needed rest, but was able to include Fernandinho, Benjamin Mendy and Sergio Aguero in the travelling squad.

With Walker out, Joao Cancelo was named at right-back, with Benjamin Mendy at left-back. John Stones and Ruben Dias partner in central defence, as Ederson keeps his place in goal and Aymeric Laporte gets a rest.

In midfield, Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva start, tasked with recreating the attacking input of De Bruyne.

And in attack, Raheem Sterling returns after only being fit enough to come off the bench in the Tottenham defeat last time out, while Gabriel Jesus gets the nod upfront again as Aguero is eased back into action. Phil Foden completes the line up.

On the bench, Guardiola can call upon the likes of Aguero, Riyad Mahrez, Ferran Torres and youngsters Felix Nmecha, Tommy Doyle and Cole Palmer. City can also use up to five substitutions in the Champions League, something Guardiola has taken advantage of in the previous three group games.

Man City team vs Olympiacos: Ederson; Cancelo, Stones, Dias, Mendy; Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Gundogan; Foden, Jesus, Sterling

Substitutes: Steffen, Carson, Aguero, Zinchenko, Laporte, Torres, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Garcia, Nmecha, Doyle, Palmer
