Man City line up vs Arsenal includes Aguero and Cancelo but no Laporte

Sergio Aguero has returned to the Manchester City starting line-up for the first time in three and a half months.

City take on Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, with the pressure on to return to winning ways after a draw and defeat in their last two Premier League games.

And Pep Guardiola has called upon Aguero after he recovered ahead of schedule from knee surgery suffered in June.

The striker is named in a strong team, but Pep Guardiola is without Aymeric Laporte and Benjamin Mendy in the matchday squad.

Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus are missing as expected through injury, with a strong front three of Aguero, captain Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez.

In midfield, Rodri is named in the holding role, with Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva in an attacking middle pair.

And in defence, Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake start in the absence of Laporte, with Joao Cancelo starting at left-back as Mendy was absence.

On the bench, Guardiola can call upon Ilkay Gundogan, Ferran Torres and young striker Liam Delap among others.

Man City starting XI vs Arsenal: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Ake, Cancelo, Rodrigo, Mahrez, Foden, Bernardo, Sterling (C), Aguero

Substitutes: Steffen, Stones, Gundogan, Torres, Fernandinho, Delap, Garcia
