Manchester City are reportedly leading the way for Dusan Vlahovic, with reports in Europe suggesting they have the “best chances” of signing the Fiorentina striker.
The Serbia international is gaining plenty of attention ahead of the January transfer window, with his goal-scoring exploits in Serie A making him one of the most in-demand players in the world right now.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Juventus have all been linked with the 21-year-old, who sits top of the scoring charts in Italy with 16 goals from 18 league appearances so far this season.
City have also been mentioned, with Pep Guardiola looking for a new frontman after failing in his attempts to bring Harry Kane to the Etihad during the summer.
Vlahovic looks set to be on the move either next month or during the summer, with the striker having turned down Fiorentina’s offers of an improved contract, and with his current deal set to expire in 2023.
Reports have suggested Vlahovic’s preference would be to remain in Italy until the end of the season, before making his move during the summer — and it appears City could be at the front of the queue once the transfer window opens.
La Repubblica (via TuttoJuve ) have suggested City “have the best chances of acquiring the transfer”, while Juventus “aren’t in the front row” for Vlahovic, which could be a big boost for Guardiola.
Elsewhere, the City boss has reportedly assured Ferran Torres he won’t stand in his way for a move to Barcelona in January.
Torres is interested in a move to the Camp Nou, with suggestions that the forward is Xavi’s top target as he looks to make his first additions as manager.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (via Inside Futbol ), Guardiola has given his word to Torres that he will not block the move if a deal is in place, and he will allow him to make his exit in January if the two clubs come to an agreement.
Torres is said to already have a verbal agreement in place with Barcelona, with the 21-year-old set to bag himself a five-and-a-half-year deal.
