Man City launch new stadium tour as they celebrate 125th birthday

Manchester City have launched a new stadium tour to mark the club's 125th birthday.

Tuesday marks 125 years since Manchester City were legally confirmed as an organisation, and the tour - which will run from Friday April 26 - will celebrate the many years of history right through to the present day of Pep Guardiola and his squad.

As well as showcasing key artefacts from the history of the club and the city including a look at Manchester's industrial past, there are also nods to the future.

A 360-degree cinema screen will allow fans to feel like they are stood on the middle of the pitch in the Etihad pitch, there will be 3D holographic content and augmented reality will see supporters 'sitting next to' Guardiola in the press conference room, where 'he' will interact as he answers questions and poses for pictures.

Omar Berrada, the club's Chief Operating Officer, said: “Announcing the ‘Manchester City Tour’ today is the perfect way to mark the club’s 125thbirthday, recognising our rich history and heritage, and celebrating the journey that the club and our fans have been on together.

"We’re delighted to have created a tour that brings together physical artefacts and technology for the first time, giving our fans an opportunity to immerse themselves with the Manchester City story in a unique way. We hope that it will make for an unforgettable experience.”

The tour precedes a season-long celebration of the club's anniversary, which will start in August and continue until May.
