Man City kept Lionel Messi quiet but West Ham have a different prospect in Michail Antonio

West Ham head to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon in high spirits after the Hammers saw off Rapid Vienna on Thursday night to seal top spot in Europa League Group H.

Hammers manager David Moyes was delighted with the "professional performance" his team put in to get the job done in Austria and is now firmly concentrating on domestic action until the Europa League resumes in March.

Next up for West Ham is a difficult trip to the Etihad Stadium but one which the manager believes his team can get a result from with Moyes using the Hammers' win over Liverpool as an example of the type of performance his team can produce.

"We've challenged the top teams. We got a result against Liverpool, so I want to see if we can compete against them and make things difficult for the big sides," he said.

Following the trip to Austria, the manager confirmed his squad had no new injury doubts with just long-term absentee Angelo Ogbonna unavailable for Sunday's clash.

"We are okay but we will assess things today and see how the players come through, but they all seem okay," Moyes added.

Manchester City will also be high in confidence after their superb performance against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.

Moyes watched the match from his hotel in Austria and was impressed with what he saw, however, he did note that as good as Lionel Messi is Michail Antonio will pose the City backline a few different questions to the Argentine.

"It was an incredible game of football, probably one of the best I’ve seen in a long time," the manager said.

"Mich will probably cause them different problems than Messi would do but they’ve shown exactly what they are and everybody is trying to aspire to be at their level. That takes time but they’ve got a great team and great manager."
