Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has received another boost to his squad after confirming that Ilkay Gundogan may be available to face Arsenal on Sunday.
City are looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table when they travel to face Mikel Arteta's side, following a midweek victory against Everton.
However, there were some concerns regarding Gundogan, who has been in sensational form recently, after he missed that game in midweek.
Speaking after that game, Guardiola confirmed that the decision to leave the Germany international out was to avoid a risk and has now provided a fresh update on the midfielder.
City will, however, still be without central defender Nathan Ake, who has been sidelined since Boxing Day with a hamstring injury.
"Nathan is back training on the pitch alone, but he's closer to coming back with us," he said in his pre-match press conference.
"Ilkay trained part of the training session today, we'll see tomorrow how he feels. The rest are fit."
City are looking to extend their 17-match winning streak in all competitions when they face the Gunners but Guardiola is not keeping tabs on his side's record.
"In the past we didn't think about that, just playing the next game. All the good results are a consequence of something, not competing to break records," he said.
"We just try to play good and win games. We were not consistent at the beginning of the season."
