Bernardo Silva and Aleks Zinchenko face late fitness tests ahead of Crystal Palace - but both look set to be back for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Tottenham.
The Manchester City pair missed Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to Spurs, but Pep Guardiola is hopeful he will have both back for Sunday’s crunch Premier League clash with Palace.
Bernardo was a late withdrawal from the game at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a thigh complaint.
Zinchenko suffered a hamstring strain against Cardiff last week, but both have responded well to treatment in recent days.
“They are better,” confirmed Pep Guardiola. “We’ll see today and tomorrow. They are feeling better, but I don’t know about Sunday.”
City’s manager identified the trip to Selhurst Park as pivotal to their title hopes in the middle of a crucial two weeks in his pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple.
City booked their place in the FA Cup final with victory against Brighton last weekend, before three games against Spurs in the Champions League and the Premier League.
But Guardiola says it is the game against Palace, who beat City 3-2 in December, that stood out.
“We knew it weeks ago, how it would be between these important games,” he added. “Selhurst Park is always difficult because of the stadium and the quality of the players.
“They’ve done so well, 11 points clear of relegation. They’ve had incredible results, quality players. There are six games left we know what we are playing for and we are going to see.”
Guardiola also shot down Ilkay Gundogan’s claims this week that City weren’t brave enough in defeat to Tottenham and are too nervous in the Champions League.
“I don’t agree with him,” said the City manager. “Absolutely not. There are games when we concede a goal and we are not there, but in this case we conceded a goal and nothing happened.
“Especially in the second half it was under control. We didn’t concede many shots on target and we were there many times - even if we didn’t create too much.
“Of course we want to do well, especially in the Champions League but in that case in this specific game I don’t think I agree.
“He can say whatever he wants. I like when they express what they believe, but it’s happened many times in my career in specific games when they lost a little control.
“Tottenham create from nothing with the players they have, players who run in behind. We controlled them quite well.
“We decided to play a different type of game. Unfortunately we couldn’t score but we have the second leg with our friends at home and we’ll go for the semi-finals.”
Predicted XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Delph; Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Sane, Aguero, Sterling
