Man City injury, suspension list: Team news and predicted line-up vs Cardiff

Manchester City will be without key striker Sergio Aguero when they face Cardiff in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

The Argentine opened the scoring for the defending champions with his 19th goal of the season in Saturday's 2-0 win at Fulham, but was eventually forced off through injury after 57 minutes.

Pep Guardiola said after the full-time whistle at Craven Cottage that Aguero had "felt something" in the second half and decided on not continuing, also expressing hope that it would not be a big issue.

Providing an update on Tuesday, Guardiola claimed that the player would miss the visit of relegation-threatened Cardiff to the Etihad Stadium but could return in the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton on Saturday or in next week's Champions League last-eight first-leg clash with Tottenham.

"He didn't train the last two days (and) tomorrow is not able (to play)," the manager said. "Hopefully next Saturday, next Wednesday (he can). We will see his evolution in the next days."

Aguero, who is likely to be replaced by Gabriel Jesus against Cardiff as City bid to return to the top of the table before title rivals Liverpool meet Southampton on Friday, joins long-term absentee Claudio Bravo (ruptured achilles) on the sidelines, while Fabian Delph remains out with a knock.

However, Benjamin Mendy, Vincent Kompany, Fernandinho and Kevin De Bruyne are all available after injury.

Predicted XI: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Laporte, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Gundogan, David Silva, Mahrez, Jesus, Sane
