Manchester City could be without a key player for next weekend's Premier League game against Arsenal.
Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who scored twice in City's 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening, limped off shortly after bringing up his 11th league goal of the season.
The Germany international looked to have tweaked something in his groin and Pep Guardiola took no chances with his in-form star by substituting him immediately.
Ferran Torres was introduced to proceedings with just over 20 minutes left to play at the Etihad Stadium, but City fans have been waiting anxiously for an update on Gundogan ahead of games against Arsenal as well as Everton in the coming week.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Guardiola confirmed the injury scare and revealed when he expects to know the severity of the problem.
"We will see tomorrow [Gundogan]. He told me it was tight," the Spaniard told reporters.
"He is intelligent to say it but we will see tomorrow.
"We will see. I said many times he can play as a false nine and the people laughed at me. Today it was a clear action to win the penalty and then the two goals. He is so good in those terms
"I am delighted with his performance, he won the Player of the Month award for January and he still keeps playing this way. In February he could win it again."
The potential absence of Gundogan would be a huge blow for Man City.
In addition to his brace against Spurs, the 30-year-old also netted twice in a 4-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield and has led Man City's charge to another Premier League title.
With that said, Guardiola does have a multi-talented squad to choose from as there's the option to play Phil Foden in a central midfield role if Gundogan is ruled out.
