Man City in three-team race for Kalidou Koulibaly and more transfer rumours

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is a wanted man this summer. The defender has a choice between two Premier League clubs when the transfer window opens, according to reports.

The Senegal international is expected to leave the Serie A club at the end of the season.

Both Manchester City and Manchester United are said to be chasing the 28-year-old.

La Repubblica now claim that there is a three-team race for the defender, with Man City going against United and French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

It has previously been reported that Koulibaly will cost in the region of £87.2 million.

The centre-back has seen his season affected by injury, missing the last three matches before the league suspension with a thigh injury.

Meanwhile, City are said to have been put on red alert by comments from Barcelona boss Quique Setien on their pursuit of Lautaro Martinez.

City looked destined to miss out on the Inter forward with him apparently preferring a move to the Nou Camp, however, Setien’s latest update could give them hope of stealing a march on their rivals.

“I am not pessimistic or optimistic with Lautaro,” he told Spanish radio (via the Express).

"I like [him] the way I like great soccer players, but I have no illusions with any of them.

"There will be an economic crisis due to Coronavirus - same for Neymar deal”.

The Argentine striker has a release clause of £97.5 million in his contract at the San Siro.
