Man City in talks over Callum Doyle loan move to Sunderland

Manchester City have held discussions with Sunderland over the possibility of loaning out defender Callum Doyle.

The 17-year-old who helped City 's development team win the Premier League 2 title last season, could leave the club on an extended loan deal this summer, to boost his chances of playing first-team football.

Doyle featured for City's Under-18 and Under-23 teams last season and also played for City's Under-21s in the Papa John's trophy.

As reported by the Northern Echo, League One side Sunderland, are interested in bringing Doyle to the Stadium of Light on a two-year loan deal.

City have started to use two-year arrangements for some of their emerging young players when it comes to loan deals in recent times.

They feel it gives the player a sense of stability and are also of the belief that it will be beneficial for their development.

Serbian winger Filip Stevanovic was a recent example of this, as he joined Dutch side Heerenveen on a two-year deal last week.
