Man City 'in pole position' to sign Lyon star Houssem Aouar and more transfer rumours

Man City are interested in signing Lyon star Houssem Aouar but face competition from Juventus, according to reports.

City have endured their worst start to a season under Pep Guardiola this year and find themselves 14 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The Blues have already dropped more points this season than they did in the entirety of the last and that level of drop off may see Guardiola look to refresh his squad in the summer with some new talent.

The latest player to be linked with a move to the Etihad is Lyon's all action midfielder Aouar, who impressed against City in the Champions League group stages last season.

According to CalcioMercato, City 'are currently in pole position for the player.'

However, it is claimed Juventus have 'set their sights' on the 21-year-old and that bidding will start at €45m but his 'price tag is set to rise further.'

Meanwhile, Corrieire Dello Sport, via  SempreInter , report City will return to their interest in Milan Skriniar of Inter.

City have suffered at the back this season following the departure of captain Vincent Kompany and the fitness issues of Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi.

Skriniar is the latest centre-back to be linked and the report says City offered €60m for the defender last summer, but once again, Inter would be reluctant to sell.

Finally, City will attempt to sign Saul Niguez of Atletico Madrid as a replacement for David Silva, reports say.

The Telegraph  list the players City will try to sign this year - and a return to their interest in Saul is mentioned after he was linked last summer.
