Man City 'hours away' from sealing first summer signing

Manchester City are 'hours away' from announcing the signing of goalkeeper Asier Riesgo, according to reports in Spain.

Mundo Deportivo say City are set to sign the 35-year-old,  from Eibar, with an agreement in place with the player.

The report says Riesgo had rejected the offer of a new contract at his current club, and will instead move to City to provide cover for Ederson and Claudio Bravo. The signing will also allow Aro Muric and Daniel Grimshaw to get valuable experience out on loan.

Riesgo is thought to be attracted by a move to City as he will be allowed to develop his skills as a goalkeeping coach in City's academy.

The report says Riesgo could not turn down the opportunity of joining City, especially after current goalkeeping coach Xabier Mancisidor made a specific request to Pep Guardiola to sign him.

Meanwhile, reports in Italy say City will meet Napoli's huge £107m asking price for Kalidou Koulibaly.

Tuttosport say City are so keen to sign Koulibaly that they will meet the valuation of current club Napoli. However, the Daily Mail reject that idea, saying City won't make a move for the Senegalese centre-back.

City are looking for a new central defender after long-standing captain Vincent Kompany departed for Anderlecht. Harry Maguire has also been linked with a move to the Etihad.
