Man City hopes of signing Juventus defender Joao Cancelo 'rest on Danilo future'

If Manchester City want to sign Juventus full-back Joao Cancelo, they might have to let Danilo move the other way.

That is according to the latest reports, which suggest City will only let Danilo leave if they have a replacement lined up, with Cancelo the preferred option.

Reports last week claimed City were in talks with Juve over the €50m signing of Cancelo, and any interest the Italian champions had in Danilo would be a separate transfer.

But the Sun now claim that the future of both players may depend on each other, as Juventus' interest in Danilo increases.

The report says City would be open to letting Danilo leave, with Juve monitoring his situation. City are thought to be looking to recoup most of the £25m they paid for the Brazilian, but would only sell if they had a replacement lined up.

That is where Cancelo comes in, with the 24-year-old thought to be a target for City.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have reportedly joined the race for Tanguy Ndombele.

The Sun claim Spurs want the Man City target, with Manchester United also linked with the Lyon defensive midfielder.

French international Ndombele is thought to be valued at £50m by his club.
