Man City have bid rejected for Kalidou Koulibaly and more transfer rumours

Manchester City have had a bid rejected for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly - according to reports in Italy.

MEN Sport understand the Senegal international is one City's transfer shortlist as Pep Guardiola views his defence as an area that must be strengthened in the upcoming window.

Koulibaly, 29, has established himself as one of the top defenders in the world during his time with Napoli but is widely expected to leave the club this summer.

Corriere dello Sport report the Serie A side are willing to sell their star defender for the right price and will allow him to depart if a club matches their €70million valuation.

City are believed to have had a bid worth between €60-65million rejected and new reports claim Koulibaly is not against the idea of signing a new contract with his current employers.

However, it also states that City haven't given up on securing his services yet but face an uphill task to do so.

Elsewhere, reports claim Inter Milan are set to offer a new contract to Lautaro Martinez in order to wave off interest from the Blues.

Martinez is enjoying the finest season of his career under Antonio Conte and has been tipped to replace Sergio Aguero at the Etihad Stadium.

Sport Mediaset claim Inter are prepared to offer him a lucrative new deal in order to fend off interested parties.

Barcelona and City are the two clubs who have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old.

Martinez is currently under contract with Inter until 2023.
