Man City handed Sergio Aguero injury scare ahead of Liverpool Premier League title decider

Manchester City have been dealt an injury scare ahead of facing Liverpool next week after Sergio Aguero was forced off in their Premier League meeting with Burnley on Monday night.

The Argentina international limped off just before half time after taking a heavy knock to his foot to win a VAR-awarded penalty following a challenge from Ben Mee at the Etihad Stadium.

Gabriel Jesus came on in the 32-year-old's place as Riyad Mahrez stepped up to score the spot-kick to hand Pep Guardiola's side a 3-0 lead at the break.

Aguero could now be a doubt for Man City 's next outing away at Chelsea on Thursday with Liverpool travelling to the Etihad the following week, with both games capable of handing Jurgen Klopp 's side a maiden Premier League title.

Meanwhile, the striker has enjoyed home fixtures with Liverpool in the past, having scored in all seven of his previous Premier League meetings with the Reds at the Etihad Stadium.
