Man City handed Premier League title boost as Liverpool FC suffer injury blow for run-in

Liverpool have been left counting the cost of Wednesday night's 3-0 Champions League semi-final first leg defeat to Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

The Reds have an uphill battle to reach the final after failing to net an away goal against the Spanish champions ahead of the second leg next week.

But their chances of winning the Premier League title have also taken a hit with midfielder Naby Keita ruled out for the rest of the season.

Keita limped off during the first-half in Spain and the Liverpool Echo are now reporting that he's set to miss the final three games with the a groin injury.

The midfielder has been in impressive for the Reds in recent weeks as they go head-to-head with Man City for the Premier League title.

He has scored three goals in his previous five appearances with captain Jordan Henderson expected to replace him against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Roberto Firmino was introduced from the bench in Barcelona as he continues to shrug off a muscle injury which saw him miss the win over Huddersfield Town. 

Man City are one point clear at the top of the table and can be crowned champions with victory over Leicester City on Monday if Liverpool slip up at Newcastle.
