Man City handed Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus boost ahead of Everton fixture

Manchester City have been handed a fitness boost ahead of their clash with Everton on Saturday as Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus returned to first-team training.

Grealish, 26, has missed the last three with a shin injury as the Blues beat Norwich and Sporting CP, before Tottenham Hotspur dented their title aspirations.

The initial concerns for City were raised after Pep Guardiola admitted it was similar to what Grealish suffered towards the end of last season, blighting Aston Villa's push to stay up in the Premier League, with the £100m summer-signing falling foul of the issue at the beginning of this month.

On Thursday, the official City account shared the good news, showing pictures of the 26-year-old in training alongside Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus marks his return after returning from last month's international break with a knock which has seen him sidelined for three Premier League matches and the resounding Champions League victory in Lisbon.

Guardiola was left relieved after the diagnosis on Grealish showed the injury wasn't as severe as the one that hampered his fitness for England's Euro 2020 campaign.

Prior to the meeting with Antonio Conte's side, he said: "The shin, the symptoms seem much less than last season in Birmingham.

"I didn't talk with the doctor but we will see. I don't think he will be ready for tomorrow but hopefully for the next weeks."
