Man City goalkeeper Ederson reveals moment he really "p***** off" Pep Guardiola

Man City goalkeeper Ederson has revealed the moment he made boss Pep Guardiola "p***** off".

The Brazilian stopper admitted his manager was none too pleased about some comments he made following a win over Swansea in 2018.

With City leading the visitors by three-goals-to-nil at the Etihad, supporters of the club were urging Ederson to take a penalty that had been awarded.

Instead his teammate and fellow countryman Gabriel Jesus stepped up and missed, and Ederson made a joke after the game which left Guardiola angry.

Ederson said in the post-match interview: "I heard them chanting my name, asking me to take the penalty, but Gabriel went there.

"Unfortunately he missed it and Bernardo, fortunately, scored, but if the manager had asked me to go there, I would have definitely scored.

"I'm good at penalties, either using power or technique when I'm shooting.

"City have their regular penalty takers and we have good options, but if Pep asks me to take it, I'm there. Hopefully it will happen. I'd like to score."

Once Guardiola had heard Ederson's comments though he made it clear he was not impressed with his goalkeeper.

Ederson said: "One time we won 5-1, I think, and the crowd was asking for me to take the penalty.

"In the mixed zone I was asked and said that I had wanted to take it. Guardiola was p***** off!"

The 26-year-old was also recently quizzed on who he thought the best goalkeeper in the world was, and had plenty of praise for Liverpool and Brazil no.1 Alisson.

Both players have been nominated for FIFA's Best Goalkeeper award, along with Barcelona's Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

But Ederson feels his international teammate is a cut above.

"I think the three of us were the best, but I see Alisson one step ahead.

"He was great in the Premier League, won the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and had a great Copa America as well."
