Man City goalkeeper Ederson claims his Twitter account was hacked after Cristiano Ronaldo post

Ederson says he has solved an issue with his Twitter account after a post was shared with a quote criticising Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Manchester City goalkeeper, who missed the recent defeat to Liverpool with injury, has been named in the Brazil squad for their international fixtures this week along with teammate Gabriel Jesus.

On Tuesday, Ederson took to Twitter to post a simple statement explaining his account had been hacked.

"My Twitter account has been hacked. I already solved the problem," he said.

Minutes earlier, a post from his account shared an image of a quote attributed to former England and Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello criticising Cristiano Ronaldo.

The quote roughly translates as: "Cristiano is a big champion, nobody discusses that. But he hasn't dribbled anyone in three years. Today is not at its best and it is normal to replace it."

The post was captioned with a string of characters including 'nao', which translates as 'no' or 'not'.

That post was then deleted, followed by Ederson's statement.
