Man City goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw joins Lommel SK on loan on transfer deadline day

Manchester City goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw has joined Lommel SK on loan for the 2020/21 season.

It has been a quiet transfer deadline day for City so far, with no hint of any more recruits on the horizon and very little movement going the other direction, either.

However, there has finally been some activity as Grimshaw has joined City's Belgian sister club Lommel SK for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old was a regular face in match day squads throughout the 2018/19 campaign as the season ending injury to Claudio Bravo promoted him to third choice behind Ederson and Aro Muric. He was even named on the substitutes bench for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Burton Albion.

However, Grimshaw, who has been at the club since he was a teenager, has never made a first team appearance for the Blues and has left on his second loan spell after joining Hemel FC earlier this year.

The goalkeeper has played 55 games from Under-18 to Under-23 level but has not been involved in any match so far this season, with James Trafford being preferred.

He joins Muric, Jack Harrison, Daniel Arzani, Pablo Moreno, Ante Palaversa, Gavin Bazunu, Ko Itakura, Issa Kabore, Pedro Porro and Ryotaro Meshino in leaving the club on loan this summer.
