Man City forward Sergio Aguero reveals transfer 'priority'

Sergio Aguero has reiterated his desire to return to Argentina once his Manchester City career comes to an end.

The 30-year-old forward has long held a dream to finish his career playing at boyhood club Independiente and he insists that remains his plan once his current City contract expires.

Aguero signed a one-year contract extension last September which will see him remain at the Etihad until June 2021, which if fulfilled will see him having played a decade for the club.

The Argentine international originally left Independiente back in 2006 where he completed a move to Atletico Madrid. Following a successful spell at the Spanish side Aguero eventually completed a £38m move to City, a fee which he has repaid with three Premier League titles as well as becoming the club's all-time leading goalscorer.

And although Aguero is still still focused on at least two more years with City, he admits that returning to play in his homeland remains his transfer 'priority'.

"Obviously the fans (of Independiente) are excited about the return, but I have a contract with Manchester City and I try to focus on these two years that I have got left," Aguero said.

"Then later I will see (what I'll do) but obviously, the Rojo (Independiente) is always my priority."
