Man City forward Sergio Aguero can equal another Thierry Henry Arsenal FC scoring record this weekend

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero could break a long held Premier League scoring record held only by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry when he takes on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

City have to play Spurs just 62 hours after the epic Champions League encounter which saw City agonisingly eliminated on away goals after a remarkable game at the Etihad.

Aguero played his part in the drama as he scored the goal that had at one point put City in the ascendancy in the tie, and he was also the one that was ruled offside after he had set Raheem Sterling's winner in the dying moments that was cruelly disallowed by VAR.

City must get over the heartbreak quickly as they face Spurs yet again on Sunday in the league and do so knowing that any thing less than all three points would give Liverpool - who play relegation strugglers Cardiff City on Sunday - a massive advantage in the title race.

How Man City should line up vs Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League fixture

Aguero has had yet another excellent campaign for City, scoring 30 goals already this season as he somehow continues to improve his game.

Nineteen of those goals have come in the Premier League and should he score one more this season he will become just the second player to score 20+ Premier League goals in five consecutive seasons.

The other is Thierry Henry, who managed it between 2001/02 and 2005/06.
