Man City fans think Pep Guardiola has found his Community Shield starting XI vs Liverpool FC

Pep Guardiola has named his strongest possible side for the final pre-season friendly of the summer against Yokohama F.Marinos - and fans think the same XI will take to the field against Liverpool in a week's time.

City take on sister club Yokohama in their last preparation match before taking on Liverpool in the Community Shield next weekend.

Guardiola was expected to go strong with his line-up - just as he did in Hong Kong against Kitchee last time out - and the manager did not disappoint the huge crowd in Japan.

Record signing Rodri started in midfield alongside Kevin de Bruyne and captain David Silva, with Bernardo, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane in attack.

At the back, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte resumed their partnership, with Kyle Walker and Oleks Zinchenko the preferred full-backs. Claudio Bravo again started in goal.

On the bench, Guardiola will be able to call upon his young stars one last time after the likes of Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Tommy Doyle and Adria Bernabe have impressed on tour so far. Phil Foden could also get game time after joining the tour in Hong Kong.

And City fans were convinced that the starting XI in Yokohama will be the same one Guardiola deploys at Wembley next week.

With Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Ederson, Fernandinho and Nicolas Otamendi still on holiday following the Copa America, City's team was arguably the strongest Guardiola could choose.

Confirmed Man City starting XI vs Yokohama: Bravo; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko; Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva (c); Bernardo, Sane, Sterling.

Substitutes: Grimshaw, Danilo, Gundogan, Angelino, Nmecha, Foden, Touaizi, Bazunu, Pozo, Doyle, Bolton, Garcia, Harwood-Bellis, Bernabe, Poveda, Diounkou, Knight.
