Man City fans think Pep Guardiola has been given a boost ahead of Champions League clash with Tottenham

Manchester City supporters reckon Kevin de Bruyne has returned to form at the perfect time and handed Pep Guardiola a huge boost going into the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Tottenham Hotspur.

City go into the clash a goal down after Son Heung-min scored a late winner for Spurs in the opening leg and Guardiola came in for some criticism for his tactics and team selection.

One of those decisions was to leave De Bruyne out of the starting line-up, which only got more confusing when the Belgian was only brought on in the 89th minute and had no time to make an impact.

De Bruyne returned to the starting XI for the vital Premier League victory against Crystal Palace and player a starring role in the middle of the park.

He pulled the strings from deep throughout the game with some wonderful passing and was described as a 'quarterback' by Gary Neville on commentary.

It was the playmaker's defense splitting pass that set Raheem Sterling through to score the opening goal.

Surprisingly it was De Bruyne's first assist of the season and he knocked up another one later on after playing in Gabriel Jesus to score City's third in the 3-1 victory.

City fans were delighted to see De Bruyne returning to his best and you can see a selection of their reactions below.
