Man City fans think Bernardo Silva is back in his best position vs Leicester

Manchester City fans think Pep Guardiola has restored Bernardo Silva to his best position as the playmaker was named in central midfield against Leicester.

Ederson returned to the starting XI having been rested from the matchday squad in City's Carabao Cup win over Oxford, as did Fernandinho, who was also given a rest in midweek.

Fernandinho came back in defence alongside Nicolas Otamendi, with John Stones a welcome sight on the bench having recovered from injury. Kyle Walker replaced Joao Cancelo at right back, with Benjamin Mendy returning at left-back.

Rodri, who started against Oxford, was replaced by Ilkay Gundogan, with Kevin de Bruyne straight back in the starting XI as expected having also been given a night off on Wednesday. Bernardo Silva partners him in the centre.

Riyad Mahrez starts against his former club, alongside Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus in attack. Sergio Aguero has shaken off his injury to be named among the substitutes.

And fans felt the decision to play Bernardo in a more central role is a boost to City, especially as he will be alongside the in-form De Bruyne. Bernardo has been deployed more as a winger this season, despite his brilliant campaign as a central midfielder last season when De Bruyne was out injured.
