Man City fans thank Pep Guardiola for Leroy Sane decision vs Burnley

Man City fans are delighted with Pep Guardiola's team selection as Leroy Sane has returned to the starting line-up.

Sane has been rarely used in recent weeks for City, especially in big games - playing just a combined 10 minutes in both legs of the Champions League quarter-final against Tottenham.

The winger also started on the bench in the Manchester derby but came on to score the second crucial goal which sealed the points against United and has been rewarded with a start at Turf Moor.

City fans are also loving Bernardo Silva being moved into a deeper midfield role and playing alongside Ilkay Gundogan and David Silva.

City face Burnley knowing that anything less than all three points would hand Liverpool a massive advantage in the title race.

Ashley Barnes reveals details of text from Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp ahead of Man City clash

Man City suffer injury blow with Pep Guardiola's squad missing two key stars ahead of Burnley clash

The Reds beat relegated Huddersfield Town 5-0 on Friday night to retake their two point lead at the top but City can once again climb to the summit with a victory.

City may have already beaten Burnley 5-0 twice this season but it may not be a walk in the park, however, as the Clarets have significantly improved in recent weeks.

Their form since the new year has been top six standard; they've scored more goals since boxing day than Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea and have won three of their last four games - the other being an impressive 2-2 draw at Chelsea.

The man who scored the equaliser in that game was Ashley Barnes and Liverpool fans have been pinning their hopes on him to do their team a massive favour by doing the same against City.

He has history, too, as only Jamie Vardy has scored more goals against the top six while not playing for a top six side than Barnes since 2014.

The full Man City starting line-up is: Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Zinchenko; Gundogan, Bernardo, Silva; Sterling, Aguero, Sane.

Substitutes: Muric, Danilo, Stones, Otamendi, Mahrez, Foden, Jesus.
