Man City fans tell club what position to prioritise on transfer deadline day

Manchester City fans still want the club to sign another player in the transfer window, with the deadline to complete any signings fast approaching.

City, having signed Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres in the summer transfer window, are unlikely to bring any more players in before Monday night's deadline.

A left-back has been looked at to provide competition for Benjamin Mendy, who has been struggling for form in 2020, but any arrival in that position will be dependant on the departure of Aleks Zinchenko - which is becoming increasingly unlikely.

So as City expect a quiet final day of the transfer window, fans are still hoping for one more signing after seeing Pep Guardiola's men record just four points in their opening three Premier League games.

Fans are particularly worried about the left-back position, and when MEN Sport asked which position the club should try to strengthen today - if it was a possibility - it was Mendy's position that was chosen the most.

Of over 2,000 votes on Twitter, more than half said left-back would be the position they would love to see a new arrival in today.

Not far behind, with around 40 per cent of the votes, was the striker area.

City have struggled without Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus at the start of this campaign, needing Raheem Sterling to play out of position and 17-year-old Liam Delap to step up from the academy.

With Aguero into the last season of his contract, a third striker is the next long-term priority for City to strengthen, having finally replaced Vincent Kompany in defence.

A minority of fans wanted to see a new central midfielder or right-back arrive.
