With Premier League leaders Liverpool in action at the Club World Cup, all eyes were on Manchester City's clash with Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
City entered the game 14 points behind the Reds and four behind Leicester, knowing that a defeat to Brendan Rodgers' side would have left them even further behind.
However, the defending champions laid down a marker after coming from behind to secure a 3-1 win and ensured all three points will remain in Manchester.
Jamie Vardy had opened the scoring after Leicester hit City on the counter-attack but Riyad Mahrez's deflected effort levelled the scores, with Ilkay Gundogan then firing the hosts ahead from the penalty spot.
In the second half, Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus combined to add the icing on the cake for a victory that moves City 11 points behind Liverpool in the hunt for the title - although the Reds do have a game in hand.
During the game, there was one man in particular who caught the eyes of the City fans and many took to social media to heap praise upon Mahrez, who was superb against his former side.
